Spring is the perfect time to renew yourself, your style and your home with simple crafting projects.

Craft & Hobby Association National Spokesperson and TV Personality Terri O shares 5 of the hottest trends in the crafting industry.

#1 Terri O says the hottest new trend in crafting today is Hybrid Crafting! It is the combination of using your computer or high tech gadgets along with paper, fibers and paints. Crafty Kids include a set of 12 background papers – all 8×8 in size – suitable for various crafting projects including scrapbooking, card making and other projects.

#2 Crafters still like to get their hands dirty, but also want a more sophisticated look. Using your computer to create beautiful store quality cards is not new, but a company called My Life Share is making it easier.

It’s the newest online card making company offering the latest in digital designs, but they print and send your cards for you. This new concept is saving digital card makers money and time.

#3 For those who still like to make their cards from scratch will love the newest tool to hit the market called The Slice.

It will cut, emboss and draw a design on your paper by just touching the screen. Each digital memory cards provides hundreds of designs. They just updated The Slice to make it hands free. You place your cutter on your paper, push a button and walk away.

#4 Beginner crafters will love spring projects using Bic Mark-It Markers. No mess, no clean up. You can pencil your designs on wooden eggs and then draw.

Terri O says make sure you seal the wood first otherwise the colors will run.

#5 No skill level is needed to make painted t-shirts. Terri O suggests you use a new tool called the ColorArtz Air Brush kit.

You can do t-shirts, shoes bags or even home accessories. Visit Terri O’s website to see the many projects she has created since discovering this product.

National Craft Month is the perfect time to experiment with a new craft or if you are a beginner you can try one. Most major craft celebrate the month by offering free or inexpensive classes or make and takes.

By visiting a craft store this month you will be able to try it before you buy it.

For more craft projects, how-to videos and links to stores visit Terri O’s website.

Terri O to Host Satellite Media Tour for National Craft Month

That’s right, Terri O will be hosting a satellite media tour for National Craft Month.  As a reminder, a satellite media tour is a series of morning show TV interviews conducted from the comfort of a TV studio and all the TV interviews are conducted via satellite broadcast – hence the name Satellite Media Tour.  CHA has traditionally hosted these successful SMT’s but due to budget constraints, has not hosted one since 2008.  With that said, I’d like to applaud Terri O for helping drive awareness of National Craft Month and providing CHA members with opportunities for national TV exposure with this SMT.

Any interest in participation should be addressed directly to Terri O.  Please read the following thoroughly before contacting her directly at the email address provided…
