The Craftys, the awards celebrating the best in crafts, are getting more diverse and splashier in 2016. The event that celebrates the best in crafts is now entering its third year and continuing to expand its categories.
Given the large number of crafters who create work for newborns and toddlers, The Craftys now has a Baby Crafts award. This category not only includes booties and sweaters, but also furniture made for the nursery and even gender-reveal items. Almost any project related to welcoming an addition to the family can be considered. Red Heart Yarns, sponsor of the Baby Crafts category, will be awarding the winner $100 in yarn as well as $200 in cash.
The Duck Brand has also partnered with The Craftys to launch a Duct Tape crafts category. Expectations are high for an impressive array of flowers, dresses and accessories, all made out of the ultra-durable material. The Duck Brand will also be awarding $200 as well as $150 in Duck Tape to the category winner.
A Geek Crafts category appeals to projects made by die-hard sci-fi fans, 3D printing enthusiasts and creators of handmade electronics. Given the popularity of wood projects in the past, a woodworking category has been added to the verticals.
The Craftys will be awarded at a live event in February of 2017 in New York City.
