March is National Craft Month! All month long we will be sharing stories from your peers about what they are doing to celebrate and how they are encouraging others to discover the benefits of creativity.
CHA Membership Director Jason Baum is exploring DIY projects in his house this month. Keep reading to learn about the project that his and his wife are currently working on.
“My wife and I are doing work on a spare bedroom in our house. The walls are painted, the blinds are up and we just tore up the old stained carpet left by the previous owners. Throughout our house we have original maple floors; they need refinishing, but having them exposed really adds character and charm to our 100 year old house. Although, we discovered the floors in this spare bedroom are not in great shape. They had paint stains all over.
We searched all over for ideas and we landed on the following, which we’ll be taking on during National Craft Month:
Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint can transform old concrete and wooden floors, even if they’re varnished. All you have to do is apply two or three coats of the Chalk Paint, and then apply Annie Sloan Lacquer with a sponge roller, for added durability.”
