CHA Announces the Results of the 2014 Member Satisfaction Survey


ImageThe Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) is excited to share  the results and key findings from our recent online Member Satisfaction Survey. Thank you to the more than 600 members who responded and shared critical thoughts on CHA membership.

We are happy to report that overall member satisfaction has increased.

Our research showed improved overall satisfaction with CHA membership, with manufacturers indicating the greatest increase in satisfaction. Specific areas of improvement included:

• 70% of respondents agreed with the statement that CHA delivers efficient and effective
trade shows, up from 51% in 2013.
• 63% agreed with the statement that CHA increases consumer awareness of the benefits of
crafting, as opposed to 54% in 2013
• 60% agreed with the statement that CHA has been responsible for positive business and
consumer media coverage of the industry, versus 48% in 2013.

Members also noted improvements in CHA’s ability to increase the member network, and  facilitate networking and buyer/seller interactions, which remains a top priority among members.

CHA trade shows continue to be the most important element of CHA membership.

50% of members surveyed indicated educational offerings are very important and the majority of  respondents also view education as important. Four in ten members rate industry research and data a top priority in evaluating membership.

The importance of member feedback is demonstrated in some findings that indicate opportunities for CHA to respond to member needs:

• 10% of designers and 7% of creative professionals requested that CHA provide more networking opportunities.
• 8% of retailers requested more education from CHA.

As you can see from the highlights reported here, CHA is moving in the right direction and helping to create a vibrant industry with an exciting image, an expanding customer base and  successful members. Our vision is that every household participates in crafting. We remain focused on that goal and on serving our members.
