On July 13, 2013, Mothership Scrapbook Gal hosted her monthly Crafty Happy Hour event for 2013 at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Downtown Riverside, California.
Crafty Happy Hour is an event where crafters and non-crafters are invited to make cards for upcoming holidays and celebrations. The theme for this Crafty Happy Hour was Happy Birthday Cards. Attendees purchased blank cards and envelopes for $5 per card/envelope set and used the “Card Crafting Station” embellishment selections, which included pre-cut and pre-punched scrapbook papers, buttons, flowers, twine, adhesives and the “Stamping Station” which included stamps and stamp ink pads.
“It was great to craft outside at our local Coffee Bean. The weather was perfect and the crafters enjoyed the various embellishments that Mothership Scrapbook Gal provided for this craft project,” said Lori Gjelhaug, a return Crafty Happy Hour guest.
Crafty Happy Hour started this year in January and has developed a bit of a following. “I wanted to make an event that crafters and non-crafters would want to attend. I think it’s working out well.” Mothership Scrapbook Gal’s owner, Rina Gonzales said. “My customer base actually requested a Happy Birthday edition of Crafty Happy Hour.”
This was also Riverside, California’s first CRE8TIME event! Gonzales got the word out about CRE8TIME through social media – on her Mothership Scrapbook Gal Facebook page and Twitter. “CRE8TIME is awesome because it says we all need to be creative and take the time to create,” said Gonzales.
In addition to being a CRE8TIME event, Mothership Scrapbook Gal has a couple of noteworthy sponsors including iLovetoCreate and Clearsnap. On the Card Crafting Station there were embellishment selections and Aleene’s Turbo Tacky glue bottles and pens set out for the guests to use. At the Stamping Station, there was a fun variety of Colorbox stamp pads set out for use as well.
