FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHA SEEKS NOMINATIONS FOR 2010 INDUSTRY AWARDS

Elmwood Park, NJ, (June 15, 2010) — The Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) is pleased to announce the CHA Awards Committee chaired by Linda Augsburg (Prime Publishing/Fave Crafts) is seeking nominations for the 2010 CHA Industry Awards to be presented during the 70th Annual CHA Winter Convention & Trade Show in Los Angeles, California January 29-February 1, 2011.

Each year CHA accepts nominations from members across the industry in hopes of identifying individuals and companies that have made significant contributions to humanity, the industry and the Association. The CHA Awards Committee is looking for “deserving CHA Award recipients” in the following award categories:

• Meritorious Award of Honor – Service to CHA

The Meritorious Award of Honor is the highest award of recognition that the Craft & Hobby Association can bestow upon an individual member past or present. This award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the Craft & Hobby Association.

Industry Achievement Award – Contribution to Craft & Hobby Industry

The Industry Achievement Award is for a CHA member (individual, group and/or company) that has made a significant contribution to the growth and vitality of the craft and hobby industry as a whole.

Special Recognition Award(s) – Good Deeds

The Special Recognition Award is presented to person, group and/or company for their extraordinary contribution in an activity that showcases the craft and hobby industry in a positive way.  Award recipient(s) need not be a member(s) of the Association.

“I’m amazed each year when I hear the stories from each recipient at the presentation ceremony. Whether to the industry, to the organization, or in their communities, the contributions of the individuals chosen for these awards humble and inspire me and, I’m sure, countless others” said Linda Augsburg, CHA Awards Committee Chair. “This year’s Awards Committee is looking forward to seeing who our members nominate and learning more about the wonderful contributions being made by those unsung members of our industry. Please don’t assume someone’s been nominated—make sure YOU nominate them. We’re only a committee of seven, so we depend on our fellow member to help us in our search!”

Aside from Linda Augsburg two additional CHA Board members sit on the Awards Committee including Emma Gebo (SIERRA’S) and Mark Hill (Creativity Inc.). There are also several members-at-large serving on this committee including Chery Ball (iLoveToCreate.com/Duncan Enterprises), Jim Bremer (Tall Mouse Arts & Crafts), Jim Scatena (FloraCraft Corporation), and Kathie Stull (KS Productions).

The Awards Nomination form may be found under the “Members Only” area of www.craftandhobby.org or contact Marketing Manager, Jon Krance at (201) 835-1214 or jkrance@craftandhobby.org to request a nomination form. Please provide one form for each nomination. The deadline for submissions is August 31, 2010.
